Your First Chiropractic Visit
1. New Patient Forms
Yes, unfortunately there is a bit of paperwork to fill out upon visiting our office. After getting to Advanced Care Specialists you will be greeted by our receptionist, who will walk you through our new patient intake form. We ask you to fill this out to ensure we understand fully your medical history to best treat your aches and pains.
2. Chiropractic Consultation
After completing the new patient intake form you will meet with one of our chiropractors to discuss your health-related problems or concerns. We will discuss your symptoms, some potential causes and learn about your expectations and/or goals for treatment.
After speaking with a member of our chiropractic team, your chiropractor will perform an examination to understand more about your physical health. We will test your reflexes, flexibility, and functionality. We will also preform other traditional neurological, orthopedic and postural tests. These tests will be preformed after you have given consent to our staff.
4. Imaging Studies
Depending on the findings from your consultation and/or examination specific imaging studies, including x-ray, MRI scan, or CT scans may be ordered to get further confirmation of any findings. Imaging studies help provide confirmation and clarity on the most effective treatment plan for your needs. These studies will also aid in alerting us of any spinal conditions before we begin treatment.
After your initial appointment, depending on the findings, you may choose to receive your first treatment. A treatment session may include a spinal adjustment, electro-muscular stimulation, ultrasound, laser therapy, manual therapy, and/or corrective stretching exercises. Our treatment sessions are interactive and all patients are encouraged to express preferences and concerns during treatment.
